Virtual Consultations
Expert scoliosis care, wherever you are.
About Virtual Consultations
With scoliosis being a small subset of the population, scoliosis specialists are few and far between. Scoliosis-specialist “deserts” exist in both the United States and abroad. We are here to fill that care gap.
PARENTS/CHILDREN
For parents of a child or teen recently diagnosed with scoliosis, there is so much you need to know! Your physician may not be up to date on current protocols if they lack specialization in scoliosis. For example, the window of time that bracing can have the largest impact is incredibly small - especially for females - and many physicians miss this. We strive to provide the most up-to-date education to our families regarding bracing protocols as they relate to skeletal maturity (i.e., how much growth a child has ahead of him or her).
We’re also invested in asking the “right” questions about your child, including whether they’re meeting their developmental milestones as younger children and their current activity levels, to determine the most effective, customized treatment plan for them.
ADULTS/SENIORS
For adults recently diagnosed with scoliosis and for those who’ve lived with scoliosis since adolescence, we’re your scoliosis experts too. From figuring out your symptom generator to assessing additional postural deviations beyond scoliosis to reviewing your current fitness regimen to determine its effectiveness and well-roundedness to asking questions about your work life and ergonomic setup – we seek to understand and treat the entire person, not just the scoliosis.

Virtual Consultation FAQs
-
No. Virtual consults are billed as a wellness service rather than a healthcare service due to state licensing requirements. No diagnosis or procedural codes are assigned, and no Superbill is provided.
-
Yes, we work with all ages: parents of newly diagnosed children and teens, as well as adults, whether recently diagnosed or living with scoliosis since adolescence.
-
For your first virtual visit, we want to be able to clearly assess your posture, movement, and current concerns.
Please have the following ready:
Recent scoliosis imaging and reports, if available
A phone, tablet, or computer with a camera that can be positioned far enough away for us to see your full body from the front, back, and side
A clear area to stand and move, with enough space to take a few steps and lie on the floor if needed
Fitted athletic clothing that allows us to clearly observe your posture and spinal alignment
A simple vertical reference, such as a plumb line, laser level, doorframe, wall seam, or another straight vertical line that can help us assess alignment
A dowel, broom handle, or similar straight stick to use as a visual reference during posture and movement assessment
A chair and open wall space
Any brace, orthotics, exercise equipment, or current home program you would like us to review
A list of your goals, symptoms, concerns, and activities you would like help with
If using a laser level, position it so the vertical line can be seen clearly behind or beside you and avoid directing the laser toward anyone’s eyes.
For children and teens, we recommend having a parent or caregiver present to help with camera positioning, measurements, and exercise setup.
-
Follow-up visits are typically more focused on reviewing exercises, progressing your program, answering questions, and helping you apply your corrections to movement and exercise.
Please have:
Your current exercise program
The equipment you normally use, such as resistance bands, yoga blocks, weights, a dowel, or other training tools
Enough space for us to see your full body while exercising
A chair, wall, and floor space
A dowel, broom handle, plumb line, or other visual reference if we are reviewing posture or alignment
Any new imaging or medical updates since your previous visit
Specific exercises, movements, or activities you would like us to review
If possible, position your camera before the appointment so we can easily see your entire body without needing to repeatedly move the device.
